“Skillful pilots gain their reputation
From storms and tempest.”

This is a time to shed, simplify, and let go of what no longer serves me now or will in the life into which I am transitioning.

I love to plan, prepare, and list make. Forward is my preferred direction. I like to help others move themselves, their families, and their organizations towards their aspirations. I also move purposefully. But I find myself needing to be more attentive to my own transitioning and intentions. Time seems to be speeding up and the years speeding ahead. I realize my life timeline is near the end and no longer the beginning. Yet, I know there is so much more that I want to do.

Can you relate?

• How does what is happening globally, nationally, and in your own backyard affect your life and path into the future?

• What big questions do you ask over and over as you divine your future?

• What big decisions do you need to explore?

• What is holding you back or calling you forward?

• What phase of life are you moving into?

• What direction are you traveling?

My own big decisions and exploration of options are always enriched when I exchange them with those around me. And when I take in and evaluate all that I observe.

In this post-COVID era — a world with more distancing and remote interactions — I find myself with too few inputs to illuminate the journey. Though social media and a plethora of other sources do engage, I don’t find their content grounded, factual, or helpful. Distracting? Perhaps. Helpful in my process of discovery? No.

I look forward to Spring, longer daylight, and communicating with the outdoors. I look forward to reconnecting and stepping back into communities of work, colleagues, and interests.

Though I am self-reliant and not afraid of being alone, I am discovering I can be a solo-traveler. However, I do enjoy it far more when I share the journey with others.

Life is an adventure I think is best traveled in a pack.

• How about you?

• What is on your horizon?
